Grease (1978) is the name of the film directed by Randal Kleiser and based on Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey's musical, Grease. A film stars John Travolta, Olivia Newton-John, Jeff Conaway and Stockard Channing.
Plot summary
In the summertime of 1958, Danny Zuko (Travolta), member of Rydell High School's boy gang a T-Birds, meets Sandy Olsson (Newton-John), an guiltless girl from either Australia, at the beach & it fall crazy. After Autumn nears, Sandy must link to to Australia.
All the same, Sandy's plans come changed & she terminates higher attending Rydell High as an exchange student. She meets a class action of girls known as the Pink Ladies & quickly befriends the two. Non caring what has happened, two Danny & Sandy let their friends understand of their romanticistic conquest across a summertime.
At length, Danny & Sandy come re-introduced by Betty Rizzo (Channing), a leader of the Pink Ladies, & it decide to revive their romance, but not while forgoing constant interference from either a T-Birds, Pink Ladies & the rival gang, A Scorpions.
Danny & Sandy come separated once more at a school dance contest. Although it arrive together, a T-Birds conspire for Danny back together by having his old girl friend & dance partner, Cha-Cha DiGregorio. It succeed & Danny & Cha-cha-cha-Cha last in to win a contest. Feeling betrayed, Sandy leaves a dance around disgust.
Within an effort to reconcile by using Sandy, Danny asks her to "be his girl" & offers her the ring. She at the start accepts on the other h& Danny endeavor to kiss and grope her when he feels that is what he should clean by owning his girl. Sandy throws his ring back at him & once more leaves within disgust.
However at the prevent of the school season graduation carnival, a fresh, badder seeking Sandy emerges. She seems to own decided to "loosen up" around an effort to exist as sustaining Danny. Meanwhile, Danny has received the letterman's sweater around track around an effort to impress Sandy. Them meet midmost & Danny & Sandy fly off arm inside arm within the glazed roadster.
Effects
Although Travolta was already noted for the picture Saturday Night Fever, Grease reconfirmed his status as a superstar. Newton-John's fame too reached fresh heights when a motion-picture show freed. A picture show received 5 Golden Globe Award nominations in 1979.
A film was re-freed to theaters within 1998 for the film's 20th day of remembrance.
A moving-picture show's soundtrack was the first album within several different countries. In the United Kingdom, the two Travolta/Newton-John duets, "You're The One That I Want" & "Summer Nights" were two first hits & pop up eighth & 21st severally in the official all-time UK best-selling singles list issued in 2002. A song "Hopelessly Devoted to You" was nominated for an Academy Award (1979) for Best Music - Original Song. A moving picture's title song was as well the first hit individual for Frankie Valli.
Grease spawned the sequel, Grease 2 (1982 with an entirely different cast) which was tremendously less successful.

Around 1988, an Indonesian computer virus named Den Zuk spread. A title comes from either a nickname of a author since he resembled the protagonist Danny Zuko.
Jeff Conaway had to walk slightly stooped thus John Travolta would appear taller.
Singer Olivithe Newton-John experienced hardly done any acting, & was panic-struck of the idea of starring inside a heavy-budget musical theater. John Travolta (world health organization was as well the singer) was really supportive though, & every now & again after Newton-John manufactured a misrequire in the period of motion-picture photography, he would produce it look rather it was his fault and take the blame for it.
